Choosing a Volume Licensing
Program
Before deciding if volume licensing
is right for your organization, consider these questions:
-How often will you upgrade your hardware and software?
-What priority does your organization put on training?
-What software will you need to build the solution that meets your
objectives?
-Are you interested in spreading out payments?
-How do acquisition costs and ease of deployment affect your
decision?
-Does your organization need multiple copies of software?
-Is it important for your organization to deploy the most current
Microsoft software?
-Does your organization prefer to acquire licenses for software when
needed, or is standardization important?
There are Three options:
1. Open Value offers customers simpler license tracking,
greater control over the software upgrade cycle, and better software
cost management. In addition, Open Value customers have access to
Software Assurance benefits such as training, deployment planning
services, and product support.
2.Open License Volume may provide additional savings over
Open License Business for organizations that need to make a larger
initial up-front order in one or more product pools (applications,
systems, servers).
3. Open License offers savings on estimated retail prices
when you place an initial order for five or more licenses or one
server processor license. There are four
different types of open license programs:
Business Open license,
Academic Open License,
Government Open License,
and Charity Open License.
