Using Training to Increase Employee Productivity
When it comes to keeping employees productive, employers may only consider the usual ways of doing so: limit non work-related Internet usage, keep employee
s engaged in their work, keeping morale up with company events, and more. But what employers may not consider when looking at ways to keep employees working not only efficiently, but producing the best work possible, is training them to use the software and programs they use.
Any business is going to have to upgrade the programs they work with at some point for a myriad of reasons, be it improved functionality, new versions, or updates that make enough changes that a program isn’t as familiar anymore. If an employee isn’t aware of how best to use any of the software the company uses, that employee will only be as effective as his or her training. Some people can muddle their way through software or teach it to themselves, but when it comes to larger workforces, letting employees figure out their own way through new software is going to be more error than trial, dragging efficiency down.
Consider that most companies use Microsoft’s Office suite for all their business needs. Because it has become the norm in the business world and has been for as long as most people can remember, keeping your company and employees up to date on what all of the programs offer and make convenient can be invaluable. Office 2007 was once the new shiny product and remains a competent package of software but now Microsoft has released Office 2010 which improves many functions of the staple products such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Who do you go to when your company has changed software and needs to educate their entire staff about how it works and will make them more efficient? Instead of letting them muddle their way through the changes or learn from someone that has only learned it through their own hands-on use, contact Wasatch Software! We have a great learning environment set up to train a large staff on how any software works, including Microsoft Office 2010!
Our very own in-house trainer, Sydney Wells, is the Certified Trainer for Sage Software and holds over 40 related certifications. Her passion for training and seeking out knowledge makes her a valuable resource for not only Wasatch Software, but is absolutely invaluable to any company looking to get their employees trained on the new Microsoft 2010 suite.
