Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft
Exchange combines spam prevention, content filtering, and award-winning
antivirus technologies to provide an integrated mail security solution
for Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 servers.
Virus protection defends against new and known viruses using Symantec's
extensible NAVEX antivirus technology, and attachment and subject line
blocking capabilities enhance protection by providing hour-zero
responses against emerging threats. In addition, a Mass-Mailer Cleanup
rule detects and eliminates worm-infected viruses.
Multi-layered spam prevention combines heuristics-based detection,
custom filtering rules, and real-time blacklists and whitelisting to
maximize spam detection and minimize false positives. Once analyzed by
the heuristics engine, messages can be handled in different ways
depending on the Spam Confidence Level (SCL) assigned. Unwanted content
can also be controlled through flexible, rules-based content filtering.
Messages can be filtered based on message characteristics, including
subject line, attachment type, message size, and body text. Content
filtering prevents unwanted content from entering-and confidential
information from leaving-the network.
Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange provides full support for
Exchange 2003, including the new VS API 2.5 and SCL functionality. It
can be centrally managed through a multi-server console, enabling
simultaneous updates to all Microsoft Exchange server settings across
the enterprise.
Award-winning Symantec antivirus technologies enable administrators to
update dynamically, without stopping scan services or incurring server
downtime. And with integrated LiveUpdate functionality, virus cures can
be deployed rapidly, providing optimal protection against quickly
spreading threats.
