Moving From XP to Windows 7

As the Windows 7 beta test phase draws to a close, Microsoft is once again ramping up efforts to convince enterprises running Windows XP to start migrating to Windows Vista, and for good reason. For those that decide to jump from XP to Windows 7, Microsoft has the following message: PLAN AHEAD!
the explosion of mobile computing has created security, compliance and productivity needs that XP simply can't handle, and that's why it's important for businesses to move to Vista sooner rather than later. We moved to vista a while back, and I will tell you right now, Vista is far superior to the dull XP os. (my opinion of course, but others who have made the switch are singing the same tune).
Microsoft is aware that some customers have chosen to skip Vista and stay with XP, but is warning them that the leap from XP to Windows 7 is fraught with risks.
To reduce these risks, businesses should take stock of the applications they're running and determine when their application vendors will end support for XP and begin support for Windows 7. So in short, XP will not be around forever, and those of you who are dreading the migration over to Vista, or Windows 7, be prepared and PLAN AHEAD!

Downgrade Rights for Dummies…

Please ignore the title “Downgrade Rights for Dummies”. If you do not understand downgrade rights does not mean that you are a dummy at all. Microsoft licensing can be a tricky thing if you do not deal with it every day; fortunately Wasatch Software was founded by elite individuals that worked on the Microsoft Anti-Piracy team. Microsoft Licensing is our specialty! What do I mean by downgrade rights? Downgrade rights give you the ability to downgrade your Microsoft software to the previous version.
Example:
Latest Version: Downgrades to:
Vista = Windows XP Pro
Office 07 = Office 03
SBS 08 = SBS 03r2
Windows Server 08 = Windows Server 03
Exchange 07 = Exchange 03
SQL 08 = SQL 05
These are some of the most common versions of Microsoft software that business request downgrade rights for. So if you are looking for a way to stay unified with your current Microsoft software, and can only get quoted the latest version, rest assured it is no problem at all. HP Notebook

I Love My new HP 530!!!!! This notebook is amazing. Who says you can't have it all? I absolutely love the mobility of this notebook and it does not lack anything in performance. Get the essentials that add to your productivity, not your budget. The HP 530 Notebook PC offers low-cost computing without compromising mobility. I currently use this notebook as my primary PC, I can take it anywhere weighing in at only 6lb and packed with incredible performance for the price. Here are a few specs on this PC:
• Intel Core Duo T2300E / 1.66 GHz • 15.4" • TFT • 1 GB RAM • 80 GB HD • 6 lbs • Microsoft Windows Vista Business

I know, I know. I am sure that a lot of you out there see Windows Vista as the OS, my question to you is, have you given Vista an honest shot? I will save that for another day, but after being on Vista for about 6 months now, I can honestly say that I will never go back to a dull XP OS.
I am afraid to admit this, but after using the big “D…” word PC’s for several years I had no idea what I was missing out on. I will have to say that I do not miss the hour conversations with tech support with “D…” trying to fix the blue screen of death. My new HP has not had any problems! Allow Wasatch Software help you configure your next notebook!

Vista or XP

Microsoft’s decision to make it easier for distributors to keep Windows XP in stock after the Jan. 31, 2009, deadline is a move that will allow them to continue keeping their customers happy. Some people expect Microsoft to keep XP around until Windows 7 arrives. What are your thoughts on that?
Microsoft has pushed back the XP deadline on several occasions’ shows that the market's resistance to Vista remains strong, and that many organizations have decided to wait for Windows 7 to arrive.
Although that may be the case for several businesses, we at Wasatch Software have seen a growth In our Vista sales.
My personal opinion is that a lot of us stay in our comfort zone, and allow all the bad press on Vista to hold us back from giving it an honest try. Wasatch Software made the decision to make the switch about 6 months ago, so far so good. I know the majority of us, if not all of us enjoy working on our Vista machines at work, and grumble when we have to deal with XP at home. Please comment and give your thoughts and experiences on this subject.
